Parent/Guardian Involvement

The Reilly PTA is excited about the upcoming year and the opportunities that will be available for parents and guardians. We have made a ton of progress bringing the Reilly Community back into the school post Covid, but we know we still have a lot to work to do!

For 2023-2024, the Reilly PTA wants to define what Parent/Guardian Involvement means and how the PTA will work to support it. We invite ALL to have a positive impact not just for their child, but for the students in their child’s class, their teacher, the staff, and our community. The following proposes the responsibilities Parents/Guardians and the PTA should hold to create a reciprocal and constructive relationship, ultimately benefiting the Reilly Community as a whole.

Parents/Guardians Roles and Responsibilities

Volunteer for events and programs
- One hour of your time can mean the difference between an event going smoothly or an event happening at all. The PTA is extremely grateful for our volunteers, and we hope you will consider becoming one because you can have a bigger impact than you realize!
- Some opportunities do not need to happen in person, and can happen on your own time

Share your ideas
- Our community is ever changing and we WANT and NEED new ideas for events, fundraising, and teacher appreciation. We also want to ensure we are representing our entire community, because the wonderful variety that exists is what makes Reilly unique and beautiful.
- Let’s start creating moments for our community that will be remembered for decades to come!
Share your critiques and your solutions
- We always recommend communicating with your child’s teacher, the administration, or staff first regarding any concerns you may have. But if you feel like you are at a crossroads, the PTA will help any way we can. Most helpful is providing specific concerns, and if you have a possible solution or an example that worked at another school, let us know!

PTA Roles and Responsibilities

Organize and sponsor school events like Pumpkin Palooza, Membership Meetings, Donuts with Grownups, Perot Science Night, etc.
Organize and sponsor student focused events like Field Trips and School visits
Purchase school supplies, equipment, and fixtures
Recruit Volunteers to support the Reilly Community
Engage and inform parents/guardians about school happenings
Support students and staff, fundraise, and advocate at the state level
Be a sounding board
Collaborate with Principal Lewis and the Reilly Staff to ensure there are involvement opportunities available throughout the school year
